The ‘Kreutzer’ Stradivari

Cremona 1731 - Violin

True Copy by Florian Leonhard Fine Violins. The Kreutzer is one of the finest late-period Stradivaris, with many areas that are still fully varnished. The edgework is beautifully crisp, bold and unworn. The arching is strong and undistorted, with original thicknesses to the plate, without patches. The beautifully carved scroll is executed with strength and vigour by the 90-year-old master himself. It is a joy to copy this model with all these attributes, but more importantly it sounds like a dream, especially in modern concert halls. We have the great privilege of having exclusive access to this outstanding violin, enabling us to analyse its soul for our True Copies. Our latest commission for this model is from one of the principal players of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
