A rich tradition of high-quality restoration

Florian Leonhard began his training in the art of violin making aged 19 at Mittenwald and, shortly after graduating, took on a position at W.E. Hill & Sons. Historically one of the most important stringed instrument dealerships, renowned throughout the restoration community for their uncompromising workmanship, Hill & Sons introduced Florian to the world of restoration and repair.

After gaining further experience working at Macholds of Bremen, Germany, and Withers in London, Florian founded his own workshop in London in 1995. His aim was to train a new generation of restorers with the techniques and skills acquired in his formative years.
