Nancy Zhou gave an inspiring and mesmerising performance at a party to launch our new premises and soon-to-be-opened workshop in New York.

Nancy played pieces by Bach, Ysaye and Paganini on a rare Stradivarius violin loaned for the occasion by our New York shop. It is the same violin on which she recently won the Isaac Stern International Violin Competition in Shanghai.

Among the guests at the launch party were: former White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy – Mona K. Sutphen, Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra’s musical director/conductor – Yoon Sang Timothy Cho, virtuoso violinists Eric Silberger and Tessa Lark, 2012 Menuhin Competition winner Kevin Zhu, violinist and model Filip Pogady and Manhattan School of Music’s Professor Lucie Robert.

We opened our New York Shop over 4 years ago. The American arm of the business will still be based in 7th Avenue, but will soon also feature a workshop to work with our clients on stringed instrument restorations and repairs.

We wanted to offer the same services that we offer at our London workshop, in situ to our customers in New York. There has been a growing demand for us to open a workshop in New York, which like London is a cultural capital featuring some of the world’s finest musicians and orchestras.

Thank you to everyone who came to commemorate this milestone with us. It was wonderful to see the new premises full of so many old friends from over the years. A special thank you to Nancy Zhou for her inspirational performance.
