Florian Leonhard Fine Violins makes the news at the Texas Music Festival

We had the pleasure of taking some of the world’s most rare and historic instruments to the Texas Music Festival (June 16th-17th) and inviting young musicians to come and play them. The collection included the world-famous 1724 “Abergavenny” Strad and the 1731 “ex Kreutzer” Strad amongst other examples from Guarneri del Gesu, Guadagnini, Vuillaume, Gagliano and Storioni.

Florian Leonhard Fine Violins staff made TV appearances throughout the festival, including an interview with Houston Public Media featuring Florian Leonhard and a video of Katie Thomas (collection specialist at FLFV) playing the “Abergavenny Strad”.

Florian also delivered a lecture on “The Modern-Day Sherlock Holmes – A Study in the Process of Authentication” at the University of Houston Campus.
