Florian Leonhard speaks at the 5th Annual Art Investment Conference
Florian Leonhard was invited to speak about Fine Violin Investment during the 5th Annual Art Investment Conference. The Conference entitled "Art Investment in the New Information Age" was hosted by the London Business School on the 27th May in London. Florian Leonhard spoke about the importance of transparency in Art Investment, and how it facilitates the formation of a solid foundation on which this kind of investment can develop.
The 5th Annual Art Investment Conference at London Business School featured world-class industry participants including art fund managers, economists, collectors, gallerists, dealers and academics from around the world coming together to discuss Art Investment in the New Information Age.
Now in its fifth edition, the one-day conference this year focused on the impact that increasing transparency is having on the global art market and examined how practitioners are capitalizing on a rapidly-changing environment. The day comprised speaker presentations, case studies and panel discussions, all with the aim of bringing a diverse perspective on new opportunities in the global art market and the growing importance of art in alternative investment strategies. This comes against a backdrop of increasing investment in art globally and a new generation of collectors for whom investment in art has become an important component of their strategic portfolio diversification.
This year’s keynote speaker was Lord Hindlip, former International Chairman of Christie’s. Lord Hindlip spent 40 years at Christie’s, leading much of the company’s international development and growth as well as masterminding many of the most fascinating sales of the company’s history. Other speakers included Arnaud de Servigny, Global Head of Discretionary Portfolio Management & Strategy at Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management, and Sandy Nairne, Director of the National Portrait Gallery.
